Purpose of Position: To coordinate and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, programming, and events for children ages 6 - 12 that foster creativity, learning, and healthy life skills as part of IEi’s after-school program, summer camp and other opportunities as designated.
Reporting to: Program Manager, Tamisha Gamble
Hours: Full-time; 30 hours per week
Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Plan, coordinate, and execute activities and programming that is responsive to IEi’s mission and objectives.

Assist in recruiting children and families into the program and work to retain these participants by developing caring, responsive, and genuine relationships.

Supervise and engage with the children during all activities to ensure the success of all planned objectives.

Research learning opportunities for children throughout the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois.

Respond to emails and complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner
Qualifications/Skills:
-
Ability to empathize, engage with positivity, and create fun and educational programming pertaining to the interest of participants.

Ability to assist Program Manager in planning, coordinating, and promoting IEi curriculum.

Coordinating and promoting Youth, Teen and Family programs, opportunities, and events.

Physically able to work hands-on in programs, activities, sports, and special events as needed.

Eager to provide high-quality service to members, volunteers, and participants.

Computer skills, with the ability to perform both administrative tasks and creative projects; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Suites.

Positive and effective written and verbal communication skills

Previous childcare experience preferred.

Familiar with trauma-informed practices preferred.

In the absence of Program Manager, comfort in providing work direction to staff and volunteers and overseeing daily operations.
Schedule & Hourly Rate: This is a 30-hour position. Standard office hours are Monday-Friday 10 am - 6 pm. This position requires flexibility to adjust the schedule to work weekends as needed. $13-$15 per hour depending on qualification and experience.
