Youth In Media: in journalism class youth report on pressing community issues via “Speak-Out”, a quarterly written publication.

Poetry & Spoken Word: youth develop this unique form of self-expression in workshops.

Field Trips: local and national trips expose Englewood youth to cultural activities and advocacy opportunities that inspire them to take active roles in their community and learn about the world around them.

Driving Englewood Above the Rim (DEAR): Parents of children with lead poison will provide Lead education to the community and the greater public of their experiences of raising a chld with lead.

Community Garden Project: Promotes environmental awareness, healthy living and neighborhood beautification to residents and neighborhood youth while encouraging a sense of responsibility and ownership.

STI Education: Peer-to-peer campaign that aims to reduce risk of sexually transmitted infections among youth through community workshops.

Public Policy Advocacy Groups: Promote students and local residents to support initiatives that enforce mandatory lead screening and combat childhood obesity.

Fitness and Nutrition Class: Students will learn fun and unique exercises to improve cardiovascular endurance.
